東京工業大学大岡山キャンパス西5号館
東京工業大学那須聖研究室が設計した西5号館の2階食堂「つばめテラス」にて、ゴミ箱と演台を設計、製作しました。
ゴミ箱は、隣り合う柱との関係や、食事を終え、トレーを置き、ゴミを捨てるといった一連の動きに合わせて全体の形状や色合いを決定しています。
片側はゴミの投入口になっており、もう片側は掃除用品などの収納になっています。
分別を示すサインプレートは投入口の下の扉に引っ掛けるだけの取外しが容易なものとし、サインの変更に対応しやすいよう配慮しています。
サインは那須研究室の学生によるデザインです。
演台は、それぞれの立面を異なる構成にして動きのある形にすると同時に、仕上は周囲の壁に合わせています。
これにより、講演の際は演者を目立たせたり、部屋の隅に置かれて使われていない時は落ち着いた印象を与えたりと、各場面に応じてさまざまな表情を見せる家具になっています。
Tokyo Institute of Technology Ookayama West Building 5
We designed and produced a trash can storage and a podium for the cafeteria “Tsubame Terrace” in the second-floor of West Building 5 designed by Satoshi Nasu Laboratory of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
The overall shape and coloring of the trash can storage were determined according to the relationship with the adjacent columns and the sequence of behavior, such as finishing a meal, placing a tray, and throwing away trash.
One side serves as a trash inlet, while the other side is used to store cleaning supplies.
The sign plate indicating the separation of trash is easily removable by simply hooking it to the door below the inlet, making it easy to change the sign.
The sign itself was designed by a student in the Nasu Laboratory.
The podium has a different composition for each elevation to give it a sense of movement, and at the same time, the finish is same with the surrounding walls.
Because of this, the furniture has a variety of expressions depending on the occasion, such as making the speaker stand out during a lecture, or giving a calm impression when not in use in a corner of the room.
