東京工業大学大岡山キャンパス西6号館
東京工業大学塩崎太伸研究室が設計した西6号館の2階ライブラリースペースに本棚を設計、製作しました（一部石川製作所による製作）。
廊下状の細長い空間の両側に、本棚を窓や柱と適切な距離を取って配置し、リズミカルな立面を作っています。
グラウンド側の本棚は下部がベンチのようになっていて、腰掛けて本を読むことができます。
もう片側の本棚は、柱側の側板をなくすことで柱を見せ、すっきりとした印象にしています。
この建物はコンクリート系材料の研究実験棟として計画され、建物自体が学生にとって学びの教材となるよう、様々な材料が現しで使われています。
家具もそれに倣い、色は周囲の壁に合わせつつ、木目が少し透けて見える塗装としました。
柱や壁、窓といった建物の要素と家具の付かず離れずの関係が、空間に居心地の良さをもたらしています。

Tokyo Institute of Technology Ookayama West Building 6
We designed and produced bookshelves for the library space on the second floor of West Building 6, which was designed by Taishin Shiozaki Laboratory of Tokyo Institute of Technology (some parts were produced by Ishikawa Seisakusho).
The bookshelves are placed on both sides of the long, narrow, corridor-like space at an appropriate distance from the windows and pillars, creating a rhythmical elevation.
The bookshelf on the ground side has a bench-like lower part where students can sit and read books.
The bookshelf on the other side of the building has been designed without the side panels to show the columns, creating a clean and uncluttered impression.
This building was designed as a research and experimental building for concrete materials, and various materials are used as they are in order to make the building itself a learning example for students.
The furniture was painted to match the color of the surrounding walls, while allowing the texture of the wood to be seen.
The relationship between the furniture and the elements of the building, such as columns, walls, and windows, brings a sense of coziness to the space.
